Introducing Pathways

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.  To achieve this, we blend three distinct but interconnected elements – Pathways, Practice and Evaluation.

Pathways is the Toastmasters structured learning programme.

Its high quality, self-directed learning modules provide our members with the theoretical knowledge you’ll need to complete the projects in your chosen pathway.

How quickly, or slowly, you progress through each level and path is entirely up to you.

After taking an educational module, you will consolidate your skills by delivering a speaking assignment at one of our club meetings.

Each project assignment will focus on the key skills needed to progress through each level of your chosen Pathway. Typically, these are 5-7 min prepared speeches.

Evaluation

Timely, constructive, feedback is Toastmasters ‘secret sauce’.

Every time you deliver a speech or complete a role, you will receive supportive structured feedback from another club member.

You’ll receive commendation on what you did well plus practical guidance on the areas you still need to work on.
